Mriya Agro Holding completes harvest of winter oilseed rape
Mriya Agro Holding has completed the threshing of winter oilseed rape from a total area of 13,190 hectares, bringing in a total of 31,000 tonnes at an average yield 15% above plan at 2.37 tonnes per hectare. Harvesting continues of 35,270 hectares of winter wheat and threshing of spring barley has just begun. Next will be spring oilseed rape, spring wheat and winter rye. The Mriya harvest campaign at any one time employs over 500 vehicles—108 combines and 400 trucks.
Mriya Agro Holding chief operating officer Andriy Hryhorov gave the first intermediate results of the campaign: ‘The harvest is proceeding according to plan and to the schedule set by the agronomists. We are now also preparing the ground for the autumn sowing campaign, which began yesterday with winter oilseed rape. Our aim this year was to optimise our costs rather than maximise yields, and we are happy with the result. By the time the autumn work in the field begins in earnest we plan to completely eliminate any shortage of machinery and will be moving towards intensified use of technology and improved yields.’
Meanwhile Mriya Agro Holding’s harvest of winter barley is complete and the pea harvest, from a relatively small area under cultivation, is close to completion.
